Holy Family Church & School

Suzie and I have both independently loved this church at Indooroopilly. Its so unlike most architecture in Brisbane, is its a big standout in almost all ways. The breeze blocks and the stain glass windows are not dissimilar to the UQ Mayne Hall example. The catholic church featured in Brisbane Modern - Mid 20th century design magazine , edition 1. http://www.brisbanemodern.com.au/
Holy Contemplation: A bold structure, “ugly and horrible” is how it has been described. It offers a large scale volume with clean lines and few embellishments. The Holy Family Catholic Church, Indooroopilly, opened in 1961. Architects Douglas and Barnes.

If you want to go for a peak in person it is on the corner of Ward Street and Central Avenue in Indooroopilly.
