Smathers & Branson

Smathers & Branson is an American based company that produces needlepoint products, wallets, belts, dog collars and various other bits and pieces. It’s all very brat pack, Ivy League university inspired… but there is something pretty lovely about the needlepoint filtering into everyday objects. The latest edition of Inside Out magazine has a feature on craft vs. design and I think these items fit perfectly into that idea. They have taken something with a long standing history and reinvented its application, into everyday useful items with a surprisingly quirky and fun outcome. Not all of the items speak to the doubleyou aesthetic, but here are some we really like.
