Unto This Last

Unto This Last is a fantastic little workshop and showroom on Brick Lane in London. Their onsite local craftsman produce amazing simple and practical birch ply furniture, and interior products. I have a lovely collection of their tea light holders and always purchased a few for gifts on my weekly sojourns to the Columbia Street Flower Market.

The name of the company was based on a book by John Ruskin, written in 1860. He was an advocate for a return in local craftsman and workshops, in opposition to the human cost brought about by the Industrial Revolution. The studio runs on the same philosophy and plans to grow their business, but retain the workshop/ showroom approach, where all products are made on the premises. This philosophy remains true to their shipping policy, but there’s nothing stopping you getting a friend to ship over to Australia!
