Material girl

We went to hear a talk by Els Zijstra on Thursday night at the State Library of Queensland, as part of the Talking Design series. Els was a truly dynamic woman and had us both excited and engaged. Based in the Netherlands, Els is founder and Creative Director of Materia, a knowledge centre for the development and innovation of materials and applications for architecture and design. They offer a free search for materials and updates on innovation, design events and information about specific design sectors. A pretty impressive resource.
