Whale of a time

In the spirit of being a tourist in my own town, I went whale watching a few weeks ago. We went along with the grey nomads, tourists (note the paparazzi photo) and animal lovers out on a boat through Brisbane Whale Watching to the back of Moreton Island. I had been whale watching as a child years ago, but having the opportunity to see them up close again as an adult was pretty awe inspiring, they are mighty big creatures.

The boat was great fun, but for a less structured day, you see them off the coast at this time of year…. Straddie is good spot to catch them.
