Turnball Griffin Haeslop

San Francisco based architectural firm Turnball Griffin Haeslop are a woman-owned business that are renowned for working for their sustainable, design savvy and client driven homes, wineries, libraries and schools. I particularly like their homes, which speak to their environments, materials, design and climate, my favourite being the Atherton Residence in Califorina

The original site was home to a 1950s house and elements of this are featured in the new home, including the established garden and a man made pond. The design of the home sits on this pond and creates an oasis, more resort inspired than  home. Large sliding doors, huge white windows that open the spaces up and stone floors create the four separate buildings ajoining buildings. The house has some eco elements, including high fly-ash concrete, formaldehyde-free casework and denim insulation.

I wonder if they have fish in the pond?
