Space wrap up Milan Furniture Fair

We attended a great talk at Space Furniture by David Clark, Editor of Vogue Living last week. David presented a wrap up of all the news from this year's 2009 Salone Internazionale del Mobile (also known as Milan Furniture Fair). David is a wonderful speaker and talked about his personal highlights from his seven days of design overload at the world’s largest and most important design fair.

"One city, seven days, hundreds of designers and thousands of new products makes the Milan Furniture Fair the worlds largest and most important design fair." -SPACE

Our personal highlights include:

The Taste Lounge
Porcelain makers Richard Ginori 1735, collaborated with designer Paola Navone to create an amazing showcase, break out space and café. The plate installation wall created an eclectically beautiful feature wall.

Maarten Baas
Maarten moved away from his static furniture products and produced some amazing digital furniture items. He filmed a man drawing the time for 12 hours, then housed the video (on a screen) in a grandfather clock. (image from Design Boom http://www.designboom.com/)
The man clock is featured on his website http://www.maartenbaas.com/ and also you tube video of the clock http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYD-CDMhnmI&feature=fvsr.

David’s highlights are featured in the July/ August 2009 edition of Vogue Living. http://www.vogue.com.au/vogue+magazine/vogue+living
