Colour mate

Photos taken by Lizzie near the Bogga Road Jail. The old shop has lots of great textures from the old signage and posters.

Bella Foster @ Wayne Pate

Having been long fans of the work of Wayne Pate, it was interesting to see some of his new work on his online shop. We then realised it was the work of iillustrator Bella Foster. The work was originally Gouache and Watercolor on Paper, but is now available in a limited edition through Wayne's website.

Another great Myer sign

These photos were taken in Launceston in Tasmania. We just loved the little deck up the top!

Back to the Future

Argentinian photographer Irina Werning  has created a series of amazing works called Back to the Future. The works feature an original baby photograph that sit alongside a reproduction of the same image with the same people as adults. The results are really beautiful.

I love old photos. I admit being a nosey photographer. As soon as I step into someone else’s house, I start sniffing for them. Most of us are fascinated by their retro look but to me, it’s imagining how people would feel and look like if they were to reenact them today... A few months ago, I decided to actually do this. So, with my camera, I started inviting people to go back to their future.

Caravan

This amazing website offers creative types a place to find their spiritual home, in another city. You can list your abode to rent and or do a house swap. Its worth it just to see the great homes on there!

No listings for Brisbane yet..... Imagine all the international house guests you might get if you did put your place up?

Rebecca Ross @ SGAR

An exhibition of work by Rebecca Ross opens at SGAR Gallery in Spring Hill tonight. Rebecca Ross's practice is concerned with site, situation and sensation. Often occurring in undisclosed locations, Ross uses readily available materials to map out natural spaces and architectural features.
They look like maps only found in dreams!

I carried a watermelon

Suzie went to a party last weekend and was enlisted to bring a watermelon (cue the sounds of dirty dancing). They are surprisingly heavy but super delicious for the hot summer that has arrived. What Suzie needed was a Camioncyclette by Christopher Machet. (Camion + Bicyclette = Camioncyclette)

Via Swiss miss who posted this fantastic shot below.

Another chair...

Lizzie has been going a little nuts on the old EBay of late. ANOTHER chair to add to the collection. This one is a fab Bentwood carver for a killer price of $20. It was almost criminal to let this one slip through.

Backyard dip

We are currently researching outdoor bathing and keen to find experiences beyond the swimming pool. We just LOVE this one, raw natural and reminiscent of the good old aussie backyard watertank.

* An Australian version of the barrel pool at Basico in Mexico.
